Information on the presence of certain chemicals in Optimus cookware

AB 1200 and HB 22-1345 CHEMICAL DISCLOSURES

At Katadyn Group, we aim for our customers to have a high level of confidence in our products and therefore hold high expectations not only for product performance but also for product safety. Every Optimus cookware product aligns with the requirements set by the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure the safe usage of product components in direct contact with food.

Besides Food and Drug Administration’s standards and regulations ensuring product health safety for consumers, there are “right to know” laws enacted in the states of California and Colorado. The California Safer Food Packaging and Cookware Act (AB 1200) and the Colorado PFAS Chemicals Consumer Protection Act (HB 22-1345) require manufacturers to disclose the presence of certain chemicals that are intentionally added to the handle of a cookware product or in any product surface that comes into contact with food. AB 1200 applies to chemicals identified on California’s Department of Toxic Substance Control Candidate Chemical List (DTSC). HB 22-1345 applies to the presence of PFAS chemicals.
In compliance with these state laws and in the spirit of transparency, we use this section of our website to disclose not only the listed chemicals contained in the food contact surface of the non-stick coating of Optimus cookware, but also the listed chemicals representing alloy constituents of the substrate layers beneath the food-contact surface.
The presence of these chemicals does not mean in any way that our cookware products pose any health risk when used as instructed or intended.
