I have a hole/crack in the BeFree Flask, where did it come from and how can I fix it?

How do I fix holes/cracks in the flask?

The BeFree Flask is made of very stretchy plastic that allows the user to squeeze the water through the filter by squeezing the flask. At the same time, it takes up very little space and, unlike a hard plastic bottle, can be folded up and stored economically.

Transporting the filled flask in a backpack can result in a damaged flask. Although the material is stretchy, the movement of objects in the backpack can put pressure on the flask during transport. The best way to repair such a hole/tear is to use a self-adhesive bike hose patch, which is also stretchy and stays stuck for a long time.

Other customers recommended products as follow:

  • FlexTape by flexsealproducts.com/
  • Tenacious Repair Tape by gearaid.com/
  • Gorilla Waterproof Patch & Seal Tape by gorillaglue.com/

Make sure the material is preferably flexible, waterproof & self-adhesive for field repair.

Where can I buy a new flask?

Katadyn does not currently offer replacement flasks for BeFree products.
However, you don't have to go without a new bottle or even dispose of your filter cartridge.
There are many manufacturers of soft flasks with different features, shapes, colours and sizes.

Important: The thread must be compatible with the BeFree filter (42 mm).
Well-known brands include Salomon, Cnoc and Hydrapak.
